Colin was born in the UK although he spent his childhood growing up in South Africa.

He spent 10 years sailing professionally until 1998 and then spent the next 7 years running various race sailing boats in Southeast Asia. Colin has over 40 years of experience in the maritime industry and has cruised extensively all over the world. He was in command of a Perini-Navi in 2005 and then went on to command M/Y PASSION for 7 years. Among his numerous qualifications, he holds a MCA 3000 Tonne Captain’s license as well as a PADI Divemaster, RYA Jet Ski and Level II Powerboat Instructor. As a result, M/Y MIRAGE can issue jet ski licenses for the duration of your trip.

 

As Captain of M/Y Mirage, Colin combines his extensive experience and qualifications to guarantee a fun-filled memorable vacation with a well-developed sense of safety and security for everyone on board. Colin is always cheerful and great fun to be around and ensures that his crew all maintain the same positivity and professionalism that he does. He places a strong emphasis on planning, organization and training to ensure impeccable vessel preparation and presentation. Steve was born in Germany and grew up in South Africa.

Steve is an accomplished yachtsman whose growing passion for sailing sparked at the age of 23, when he completed his first trans-Atlantic crossing as skipper on his parent’s catamaran.

This experience ignited a desire to embark on a yachting career and over 25 years on, Steve continues to be inspired by the many different aspects of the maritime industry. In 1996 Steve became 2nd Officer on M/Y Lady Moura, at the time one of the largest yachts in the world, and was promoted to 1st Officer in 2002.

As Captain of M/Y Mirage, Steve uses his broad experience and passion for his job to ensure you have a great time on-board. Steve leads by example and he and his crew always give their very best to not only meet but exceed your needs and expectations. He is brilliantly personable and is always delighted to share recommendations and advice on itineraries, anchorages, excursions and activities. DANIEL HALL

Head Chef

Dan brings over 30+ years of experience to the role of Head Chef on Mirage. His career started under the guidance of Scottish Chef Nick Nairn where at the age of 19 he became the youngest Head Chef of a Michelin starred restaurant in Scotland.

He has worked in a number of high-profile roles including Group Executive Chef for Compass Group, Private Chef to Peter Newton of Newton vineyard in Napa Valley CA, Head Chef on the Orient Express Royal Scotsman Luxury Train.

His last land-based role was in Glasgow where he was Executive Head Chef of the 5 Star Blythswood Square Hotel. In between these positions Dan has also lived and worked throughout South America, Japan, Spain and Australia. For the last fourteen years, Dan has been in the superyacht industry and has worked on a variety of prestigious yachts including Maltese Falcon, Mary Jean II, Tango and Entourage. 

Dan is passionate about personalizing your dining experience onboard using his vast practical experience and knowledge of cuisines from around the world.

  When not onboard, he can be found at home spending time with his family in Athens.

ELOUISE DANIEL

Elouise was born in Bath, a picturesque and historically rich city in the South West of England. She began her culinary journey with formal training at Leiths School of Food & Wine, a renowned culinary institution in London. Her early career saw her working in fast-paced restaurant kitchens under the guidance of esteemed chefs, before transitioning to the role of a private chef.

Driven by a desire to deepen her understanding of health and nutrition, Elouise later joined a plant-based retreat. There, she began shaping her own culinary style—focusing on food that is nutritionally balanced, fresh and vibrant, yet indulgently satisfying. She thrives on the variety her profession offers, constantly seeking to refine her craft through both discipline and creativity.

Elouise draws inspiration from authentic regional recipes discovered during her travels. She is passionate about sourcing the finest ingredients—prioritizing local, seasonal, and sustainable produce—and takes pride in highlighting artisanal delicacies from the areas in which she cooks.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Elouise enjoys cooking for friends and family, exploring new destinations, hiking, reading, and attending live music events.

MARK BEVIS

Mark grew up in Warsash, UK– a beautiful town located on the famous Solent Waters, which naturally sparked his passion for boats.
Immediately after graduating from school, Mark enthusiastically began his five-year Marine Engineering Apprenticeship which later led him to a successful career in the yachting industry. Mark has been a Chief Engineer for over 23 years and has worked all over the world.

Some of Mark’s best qualities include great trouble-shooting skills, a willingness to always help others and offer extensive knowledge of M/Y Mirage. So make sure you don’t miss his famous Engine Room Tour!

In addition to all things engineering, Mark is a keen walker and always at hand to share his knowledge of local walking trails with guests. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family in Mollorca as well as fresh-water fishing on his self-built motor boat.

ANDY INGLE

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Andy has always had a passion for the outdoors.
His analytical and inquiring nature steered him to qualify in IT Engineering which further developed his trouble-shooting and logical skills. Over the next few years, Andy gained extensive experience within the IT field working as a Technical Manager before pursuing a yachting career in 2014. Yachting has taken Andy to various places around the world, including the Caribbean and USA, as well as Europe, Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas.

Andy initially joined the team on M/Y Mirage as an Electrical Technical Officer/ Second Engineer but after a few years of proving his professionalism and further expanding his skill sets, he successfully qualified to become a Chief Engineer. 

Andy’s composed nature and can-do attitude, coupled with his troubleshooting abilities ensure a safe and smooth operating environment onboard. He is always delighted to share interesting facts about the M/Y Mirage and always looks forward to welcoming guests on the Engine Room Tour. Andy now lives in Bulgaria with his wife and 2 children.

Born and raised in Ogulin, a quiet mountain town in central Croatia, Nina’s heart was always gravitated towards the sea. Spending seven dynamic years as a PR and sports entertainer at a coastal resort, she seamlessly blended high-energy adventure with charm.
During this time, she also pursued a professional handball career for eighteen years, alongside completing her studies in Landscape Architecture and earning a graduate diploma from Fitness University in Rijeka, Croatia as a Pilates instructor.

 In May 2017, Nina set sail into the yachting world with Mirage, where her natural leadership, drive, and vibrant energy quickly set her apart. By 2021, she had risen to Chief Stewardess, known for curating unforgettable guest experiences, fostering strong team dynamics, and always leading by example.

 When she’s not on board, Nina embraces a life full of movement and creativity—splitting her time between travel, outdoor adventures, passion projects in photography and design, and keeping up with her dog, who’s always ready for the next adventure.

JOSEFIN LIEFKE

Born in the coastal village of Löddeköpinge, Sweden, Jo has always felt a strong connection to the sea. Inspired by her father and siblings in the maritime and hospitality industries, a career in yachting came naturally.

Jo, began her journey on superyachts in 2005 and now brings over 20 years of experience on prestigious charter vessels. Known for her attention to detail and warm leadership, she ensures every guest feels welcomed and every crew member supported.

Her strengths lie in guest service, coordination, and creating a smooth onboard experience. She’s traveled extensively, with highlights including swimming with sea lions in the Galapagos and trekking to see mountain gorillas in Uganda.
Off duty, Jo enjoys hiking, yoga, Latin dancing, and discovering new culinary spots. 

Before joining Mirage, she spent three years as a project coordinator on a new build, gaining valuable behind-the-scenes insight into yacht creation. Now based in the South of France, she brings passion, precision, and a love of adventure to every journey.

BEN DICKENSON

Ben was born and raised in New Jersey, famous for its beautiful beaches, great food and diverse culture.

Ben was first introduced to boating by his father at a young age. He has worked in the yachting industry for over 15 years, which makes him a highly experienced and skillful crewmember.

Some of his previous vessels include M/Y Highlander, M/Y Passion and M/Y Trafalgar where he was the captain for 3 years. Ben holds his MCA Chief Mate 3000 Ton License and is presently working towards his Masters 3000 Ton License. He is also an advanced PADI Diver.

Leading his deck team of four, Ben is dedicated to making your experience on-board exceed your expectations. An active outdoorsman, Ben enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, camping, rock climbing and white-water rafting. When not onboard Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and two little boys in Canada.

 

Nico Scheepers

Nico was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.

After finishing school, he gained practical skills in the electrical and refrigeration industries before pursuing a career as an operations manager in the medical consumables and pharmaceuticals industry.

Living on the infamous “Kite Beach” in Bloubergstrand led Nico to find his passion for big air kitesurfing and, during his years in the corporate world found a love for teaching others to kitesurf.

In 2018 Nico became an IKO kitesurf instructor and decided to follow his love for kitesurfing and begin his superyacht career in Florida. Since then, Nico has become a PADI rescue diver and very much enjoys his time freediving.

Nico has recently achieved his Chief Mate 3000 certificate of competency.

Nico loves being active and will ride any board he can get his hands on. He is always friendly and eager to ensure there are smiles all around.

Nico is available to assist you with any water sport activities you may wish to try out during your time onboard.

BIANCA VERSTER

Born and raised in Somerset West, a sun-drenched suburb of Cape Town, South Africa – Bianca discovered her passion for hospitality early on. Straight out of high school, she pursued a three-year program in event management and coordination, which included two hands-on internships—one of them in Sydney, Australia—shaping her strong foundation in the events industry.
After completing her studies, Bianca thrived in wedding and event planning, where her creativity, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for making memorable moments truly shone. Driven by a desire to continually grow, she remains deeply committed to her craft.


In addition to her event career, Bianca has a flair for content creation, capturing the elegance and day-to-day life aboard Motor Yacht Mirage through photography and storytelling. Outside of work, she finds joy in shopping, photography, and connecting with nature—especially the ocean.

With a bright spirit, strong work ethic, and natural ability to connect with people, Bianca is not only a dedicated professional but also a valued member of the crew whose energy uplifts everyone around her.

LUTHO THOMAS

Lutho was born and raised in Gqebera, South Africa , the so-called windiest city and he then later moved to Cape Town.

Lutho went to the same High School as Captain Colin where he studied Maritime Economics and Nautical Science for 3 years and then became the Head Boy.

Lutho learned everything in relation to Seamanship skills and navigation, this is also where he refurbished a donated 26-foot sailing boat.

Lutho started working at Maersk, a shipping company as an apprentice where he learned operations, health and safety.

Whilst at the academy Lutho spent his early years rowing before discovering something that he loved even more; sail boats.

From 2017 until 2019, he sailed across the west coast of South Africa, taking part in many races and regattas.

In 2020, Lutho completed his certificates and decided to transition into the yachting industry.

Lutho is at hand to assist you with all your sailing needs. Lutho has also completed a foiling course on a F101 Trimaran, he currently has his Yacht Master Offshore Qualification and is now near completion of his OOW 3000gt qualification.

When not on board Lutho enjoys working on music production, slacklining and improving health & wellness

Kieran Elliot
ETO / SECOND ENGINEER

Kieran was born in the seaside town of Llanelli in South Wales where he grew to love the sea and exploring the outdoors. In 2012 he started an apprenticeship in electrical engineering and studied at the University of Wales, Trinity St David. After 10 years of studying and working on land, his love for travel made him want to pursue a career in yachting as an engineer. Making his way to Palma, Mallorca, Kieran has spent the winter on Mirage and is looking forward to heading into the summer season. He assists the chief engineer with the maintenance and smooth operation of the yacht, as well as maintaining a wide range of complex onboard electronic and electrical equipment.

Kieran enjoys keeping fit and playing many sports including football, golf and hiking. From a young age he played electric guitar and also played snooker for his country up to the age of 14.

 

ADDISON KING

Addison’s journey began in Darlington, United Kingdom, but it was the move to the sun-kissed shores of Marbella in Malaga, Spain that truly ignited his passion for the outdoors and travel. Growing up along the coast, surrounded by the beauty of the ocean and nature, he found his heart drawn to exploration.

 

With over a decade of experience in engineering, Addison honed his skills while earning his control and instrumentation degree in electronics, mechanical, and electrical engineering through AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment), where he dedicated six years of service.

 

In his leisure time, Addison thrives in the great outdoors, whether teeing off on the golf course, tackling mountain biking trails, or simply staying active and fit.

 

The allure of yachts beckoned to Addison from a young age, being always surrounded by them. Determined to first master his craft, he pursued qualifications and gained invaluable experience in engineering before transitioning to the yachting industry. Today, he works alongside the chief engineer, utilizing his comprehensive engineering expertise to maintain and excel in his duties aboard the yacht.

Geromine hails from Hong Kong but has cultivated a global lifestyle, having resided in Mumbai, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Seoul, London, and Paris. Embracing the nomadic life, she relishes the opportunity to immerse herself in diverse cultures and marvel at the unique beauty each locale offers.

Her culinary journey began in her childhood, as she delighted in crafting intricate cakes and pastries for her parents’ gatherings. This passion led her to pursue a degree in entrepreneurship and pastry from the esteemed Ferrandi Paris of Culinary Arts.

For Geromine, the role of sous chef is the pinnacle of her culinary ambitions. It affords her the chance to hone her skills under the guidance of the head chef, while also allowing her to indulge her wanderlust and bring joy to her colleagues through her culinary creations.

Beyond the kitchen, Geromine finds solace in surfing, literature, and the great outdoors. Her ultimate career aspiration is to transform her grandfather’s home in Essaouira, Morocco, into a boutique hotel and restaurant. To achieve this dream, she seeks to acquire the refined expertise of the yachting industry, blending high-end hospitality with her culinary flair.

Born and raised in Rustenburg, a small yet close-knit town in the Northwest of South Africa, Khumo has always valued the sense of community and family that defines her roots. In a town where everyone knows everyone, the bonds are strong and deep. The smell of a wood fire always reminds her of home and signals a good braai ahead—something she will always keep close and that she will cherish.

Khumo discovered yachting as she was looking for something practical, high-end, exciting, and yachting ticked all the boxes and even more.
One of her best memories in yachting was her first week in Monaco. She was in awe of the massive yachts, the professionalism of the crew, and the effortless elegance that defines the yachting world. Each day onboard in beautiful destinations only adds to her list of favorite moments.


When Khumo is off-duty, she enjoys long, reflective walks on the beach—taking in the scenery and practicing gratitude for this incredible life. She loves cooking, gardening, and spending time at her family’s farm.
In yachting, she is focused on continuous learning and skill development, with the aim to reach the highest position possible. Beyond yachting, she aspires to start a family and contribute to growing her community’s economy by applying the skills she has honed in this industry.

Jackie is from Gothenburg, Sweden. Where she grew up surrounded by the ocean and hearing all the sailing stories from her grandfather, who was a captain.
Her love for the ocean and boats have been a huge part of her childhood, naturally guiding her towards a career in yachting.
Jackie brings a warm, ambitious, and adventurous energy to the team. She works and strives to go above and beyond for both our guests and the crew.

Her best memory in the industry so far was arriving in Corsica for the first time and it was a moment that really cemented her passion for this lifestyle. Currently working as a stewardess and trained masseuse she is really enjoying the mix of guest-facing service, wellness, and the dynamic rhythm of the yacht life.

When she is not onboard, she is always staying active—whether that’s running, playing soccer, or hitting the gymnasium. Jacquline thrives on movement and loves challenging herself both mentally and physically.

One thing that always reminds her of home is a plate of Swedish food shared with friends and family.

Prior to yachting, Jackie worked as a management consultant and is currently studying online for a Law degree, an experience which she is very proud of.

Jackie´s future goal is to continue balancing her academic and professional journey with yachting, where she can combine service, wellness, and adventure all in one.

Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, Cameran grew up with the ocean as his playground. When it came time to choose a career, it was between the Navy and yachting — he chose the path that offered him more freedom, travel, and adrenaline. Since then, he has never looked back.

With this ambitious lifestyle choice he has had the privilege of sailing through some of the world’s most iconic passages, including an unforgettable transit through the Suez Canal from Italy to the Middle East. That journey, and others like it, has only deepened his passion for life at sea and his drive to grow within the industry.

Cameran is a very talkative, humorous, and curious crewmember who enjoys the camaraderie onboard and always brings an old-school work ethic to the table.

When not onboard, he enjoys skating, exploring historic towns, running, and hiking— anything that keeps him moving and gives him the opportunity to soak in new experiences. Earning his Yachtmaster will always remain one of his proudest achievements. The next step for him is to work his way up the ranks to bosun, and from there on keep climbing the ladder. His biggest personal dream is to eventually trade the decks of yachts for a beach bar in the Caribbean — running the show, exploring islands, and sharing the magic of the ocean with other.

KAIDEN PANAGIOTIDIS

Kaiden was born and raised in Langebaan, South Africa, where the ocean has always been part of who he is. With a father in the maritime industry and a background shaped by the wind, waves, and close-knit community of coastal life, it was only natural for him to find his way into the yachting industry.

Thanks to his father’s encouragement and guidance, Kaiden has proudly carved his own path into the industry, and he has not looked back since. Kaiden is a very energetic, authentic, and a true team player, he thrives in dynamic environments and loves being a part of a tight knit crew.

Kaiden is very eager to climb the ranks in the industry with his hands on and willing to learn attitude. He is a very adaptable crew member and with his strong passion for watersport and things all ocean, this makes him the perfect watersports and kitesurfing instructor for Mirage.

When off duty, you’ll catch Kaiden out on the water—foiling, kiting, or just soaking up the outdoors. He also loves hiking, camping, and getting off-grid to explore and reset in nature.

Born in Perth and raised in Dundee before settling just outside London, Ellen ́s love for the ocean started young — with big dreams of becoming the next David Attenborough.

That passion evolved into a career that began with becoming a scuba diving instructor and naturally flowed into the dynamic
world of yachting.

With an easygoing, adventurous nature and a deep curiosity for the marine world, Ellen thrives on deck, always eager to learn and lend a hand. Ellen has quickly become a very valued member of the team, soaking up training, and bringing enthusiasm to every task.

Ellen is never far from the water — whether it’s surfing, scuba diving, or simply sitting by the ocean. A passionate traveler and solo explorer, as well as an eye for photography has even earned them awards during university.

With ambitions to rise through the deck ranks and one day captain her own vessel, Ellen is driven to experience as much of the world as possible. Calls with her Mom and photos of the family dog always reminds her where she came from.

SHANIKA OPPERMAN

With a background in Pilates and fitness, Shanika joined the yachting industry to combine her organizational strengths with her enthusiasm for health and travel. Her goal has always been to help others feel their best, whether she’s leading a sunrise Pilates session, motivating guests and crew through workouts, or simply bringing good vibes to the team.
Known for her bubbly personality, kind heart, she quickly became a valued member of our crew. She thrives on connection and cherishes the strong sense of community and support that life at sea offers.

Off duty, you’ll likely find her running coastal trails, dancing, exploring new destinations, or training for her next fitness challenge — most recently, she proudly completed HYROX and made a bold move to a new country solo, both of which pushed her personal growth to new heights.

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Justin had an adventurous
upbringing that set the stage for a life full of exploration. After attending
boarding school, Justin pursued a Bachelor of Education degree, completing the
four-year program before embarking on a journey that combined teaching with
travel.
Following graduation, he moved to Phuket, Thailand, to teach at a high school for
a year. This experience ignited a passion for discovering new cultures and led to a
